Rustam Minnikhanov inspects construction of the Cathedral Mosque in Moscow

On October 14, in Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov inspected the construction of the Cathedral Mosque of the capital city. Chairman of the Russian Mufties Council Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin told about stages of construction to Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Mayor for Urban Development and Construction Marat Khusnullin, who is officer in charge of the project, and main benefactor of the construction of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque Suleiman Kerimov.
The meeting discussed the construction plan and examined the project of a new building meeting all modern requirements as well as interior design of the mosque, which is not intended to copy the architectural forms of other countries but is rather based on local traditions.
According to an agreement signed between the Russian Mufties Council and Ministry of Religious Affairs of Turkey, the interiors of the mosque will be decorated by the Turkish party as a gift to the Muslims of Russia.
It is expected that the official opening of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque will be held late in 2015. To perform the work with proper quality and in due time, an inspector, whose task will be daily supervision of the construction and decoration of the interiors of the mosque, will be appointed.

On 28 February, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference , the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that 170 educational facilities will have capital overhaul by federal and regional programmes, having added that the bulk of the projects are planned to begin at the start of the summer holidays.
