16 October 2014, Thursday
On October 16, during his working trip to Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Research and Development Center of OAO “KAMAZ”. Tatarstan President accompanied by Director General of the plant Sergey Kogogin got acquainted with new developments of the company - tractors with a hybrid power unit, chassis for special equipment and a new engine.
Kamaz-65206 tractors are the result of the work of the plant on hybrid units that combines an internal combustion engine and an electric motor. Today, Tatarstan President was shown towing vehicles with gas and diesel engines. It is assumed that "hybrid" vehicles with the possibility to move silently by means of electric traction power only will be in demand as transport for utilities services.
According to Chief designer of "KAMAZ" Danis Valeyev, new chassis for special equipment with wheel formula of 10x10 have standard dimensions and therefore can be used on public roads. This is the first pattern of this kind in Russia.
Rustam Minnikhanov was also demonstrated a new inline six-cylinder engine for heavy-duty trucks. According to Chief designer, the engine can reach a power of 550 hp and is not inferior in performance to its European analogues.
After taking the "hybrid" tractor 65206 for a test drive, Rustam Minnikhanov shared his impressions with journalists. "This vehicle is very comfortable for a driver and efficient. The plant has new projects that have been presented today, so the KAMAZ is a world-class company in terms of new developments,” he said.
