Ildar Khalikov holds session of organizing committee of XVI World Aquatics Championship 2015 in Kazan

On October 24, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov held a session of regional organizing committee of the XVI World Aquatics Championship and World Masters Championship 2015 in Kazan. Representatives of ministries and agencies involved in organization of the championship took part in the event.
Organizational issues, preparation of sports programme, and funding were discussed at the session.

Speaking at the session, Director General of ANO “Executive directorate of sports projects” Azat Kadyrov said that sports programme, venues, arrival and departure of participants and guests, and logo were discussed at the session of organizing committee of the XVI World Aquatics Championship 2015 chaired by Russian Minister of Sport Vitaly Mutko on September 17, 2014.

The XVI World Aquatics Championship and World Masters Championship 2015 will be held in Russia for the first time. Kazan won the right to host the competitions in July 2011.

It is expected that 2.5 thousand sportsmen, 2, 000 officials and representatives of 180-185 countries will take part in the  XVI World Aquatics Championship to be held on July 24-August 9, 2015. The athletes will compete for 71 sets of medals, the record number of awards in the history of championship.

The sports programme includes six sports – swimming, synchronous swimming, open water swimming, highboard diving, water polo, and high diving.
