Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov takes part in forum "Strategic planning in Russian regions and cities"

28 October 2014, Tuesday
On October 28, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov is on a working visit to Saint Petersburg, where he is taking part in XII All-Russia forum "Strategic planning in Russian regions and cities".

The forum has been held annually since 2012 and is regarded as the main platform for discussion of methods and tools of strategic planning, as well as constructive analysis on the most important and sensitive problems of strategic plans and complex projects implementation in urban development of Russian Federation.

The forum was organized by the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Regional Development of Russia, Russian Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, Government of St. Petersburg, Foundation “Center for strategic research”, ICSER Leontief Centre.

The event is aimed at sharing experience between cities and regions, leaders in strategic planning, as well as discussing actual results and key factors that hinder the development and realization of the strategic plans.

The choice of the main Forum theme “Revising strategies, renewing meanings” is determined by combination of external and internal factors and trends that define actual contexts of regional and urban planning. The external agenda is associated with the ongoing global economic instability, emerging signs of a new global crisis on the one hand, and growing structural crisis of the Russian economy on the other. In this regard, discussion about the choice of a new economic development model of the country, including through the acceleration of regional development, is particularly relevant.

The two-day forum program will generate 25-30 events. This year, two events with participation of Tatarstan will be held within the framework of the forum. Representatives of the republic will take part in a plenary session "Plans and Reality" on October 28. A round table "Priorities of Tatarstan Development Strategy” will take place today.
