Ildar Khalikov: “We hope to develop our cooperation with Johnson&Johnson”

On November 14, at his meeting with a delegation of Johnson&Johnson Company, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov said that Tatarstan has a positive experience of long-term cooperation with Johnson & Johnson Company in the medical field and hopes to develop it. The meeting was also attended by Minister of Health of Tatarstan Adel Vafin, Minister of Economy of the republic Artem Zdunov, Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina.
Opening the meeting, the Head of Tatarstan Government stressed that the visit of the delegation of the Johnson & Johnson Company is important for the regional leadership, because the development of the healthcare field and cutting edge medical technology is a priority in Tatarstan. "We have positive results, the life expectancy is increasing, while infant mortality rate is declining. We are able to perform more complex heart surgery. We still see a lot of potential, so we hope to expand our cooperation with Johnson & Johnson,” he said.
He noted that Tatarstan and Johnson & Johnson have been cooperating in procurement of equipment and in the field of education for more than 5 years. Only in 2014, the republic purchased 22,000 units of surgical facilities, 600 units of joint implants. "But besides trading cooperation we would like to have joint production projects," Khalikov said.
According to the Head of the Tatarstan Government, Johnson & Johnson has made its contribution to the reduction of the mortality rate from heart disease by 30 per cent in Tatarstan over the last five years, therefore the republic is interested in continuing cooperation with the company.
"During your visit, we would like to outline areas of our further cooperation in the field of education, procurement of equipment, as well as localization of your medical facilities in Tatarstan," Khalikov said.
On 13 January, speaking about New Year events at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva informed that more than 8 thousand topical events were held during New Year holidays in the republic.
“These included mass celebrations, theatrical performances, concerts, sporting competitions, and much more. Outdoor events were particularly popular, “she said and informed about numerous events held within the Kurshe (Neighbor) festival and the regional Christmas Tree celebrations organized with participation of the Rais (Head) of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov.
On 13 January Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the regional Healthcare Minister Almir Abashev, the Acting Mayor of the Town of Innopolis Ildar Khuzzyatov and heads of medical and construction organizations of the republic took part in a solemn ceremony of opening a children’s polyclinic in Innopolis. The new facility more than twice expanded the medical service of the town and also houses the 24 our emergency ambulances unit with a separate entrance for its staff.
On 12 January, congratulating employees of the prosecutor’s office with their professional holiday - Day of the employee of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation- Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin wrote in his address:
“For more than three centuries the prosecutor's office has been the guardian of state and public security as well as constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens of our country.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatutllin informed that in the current year the Ministry will take part in implementation of five national projects and three state programmes with planned construction and capital overhaul of 172 facilities for the total sum of 17bn rubles.
