A leading expert of American National Business Incubation Association (NBIA, USA) Mark Long delivered a lecture for Tatarstan officials on innovative strategy of a region in development of small and medium-size enterprises and business incubators.

The meeting with participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and other officials was held at Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers within the framework of the conference “Tatarstan 2030: human capital for economy of the future”.

In his lecture Mark Long told about measures for establishing business incubators and support of small enterprises, and answered some questions.

Speaking about small businesses, the lecturer noted that a specialized working group to work with representatives of small and medium-size enterprises on regular basis should be created. According to Mark Long, certain requirements should be imposed on business incubators, including “good managerial staff”.

Speaking at the event, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that much attention should be paid to higher educational institutions. “We have good universities. Students should not only write down lectures, but become developers,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
