Indian Minister of External Affairs: Interregional contacts will widen opportunities for our cooperation

On November 18, in New Delhi, at his meeting with Indian Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov offered to consider the possibility to hold a regular meeting of the Russia-India intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation in Kazan.

Welcoming the guests Sushma Swaraj said that India and Russia have long-standing relations. She reminded that a regular meeting of the Russia-India intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation was held in India in November. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, has visited India recently and it is expected that Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay his visit to the country in December.

She stressed that her country's leadership is interested in establishing relations with Russian regions. Interregional contacts will widen opportunities for our cooperation, Mrs. Sushma Swaraj said.

During their meeting Minnikhanov and Sushma Swaraj discussed issues related to cooperation in the field of tourism, industry and trade, petrochemistry and oil refining.
