The city of Mary, Turkmenistan, becomes cultural capital of Turkic world

On November 21, Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY Dusen Kaseinov, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Ministers of Culture of Turkic countries – members of the organization – Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and observer countries – Altai, Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Tyva, and Khakassia took part in the 32nd session of Permanent Council of ministers of culture of TURKSOY member countries.
“We note an important role of Turkic culture in development of global civilization. TURKSOY organization has done a lot on establishing new international cultural relations, and made a considerable contribution to strengthening relations between Turkic people. The Republic of Tatarstan and Kazan are an essential part of Turkic world. The decision about announcing Kazan a cultural capital of Turkic world is the international appreciation of services of the Republic of Tatarstan and its capital in strengthening of international cultural relations and expansion of cultural space,” Ildar Khalikov said welcoming the audience. He also read out greetings of Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky addressed to the session of Permanent Council of ministers of culture of TURKSOY member countries.
Dusen Kaseinov, in his turn, noted perfect organization and holding of the programme “Kazan is a cultural capital of Turkic world” and support of Tatarstan leadership. Kazan experience will be studied and will be the example for the next capital of Turkic world, - the city of Mary, Turkmenistan.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
