Tatarstan President: “Agricultural fairs are a great benefit to our urban residents”

On November 29, speaking at a traditional weekly video-conference, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that agricultural regions of Tatarstan holding food fairs in large cities of the republic is of great benefit to residents of Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny.
Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov reported on the situation in the regional food market after imposing sanctions on imports of certain goods in August 2014.
"In terms of resources the republic has no problems with its main products. Prices of 40 basic food commodities are monitored daily," he said.
"As compared with other regions of the Volga Federal District the republic has the most affordable food prices," the Minister said.
He said that the Ministry is in talks with processing enterprises to produce more products, which are currently delivered from outside the republic. These are sausage products, condensed milk, and some others.
According to Akhmetov, agricultural fairs held in Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny are a great help to urban residents. Also, due to fairs the republic is now able to solve the problem of providing the population with buckwheat.
"Fairs are a great benefit to our urban residents," Minnikhanov said.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
