The results of the Year of Culture summarized in Tatarstan

On December 30, the results of the Year of Culture in Tatarstan were summarized in RT House of Government. Tatarstan Minister of Culture Airat Sibgatullin, heads of major republic cultural institutions and on-stage performance groups participated in the video conference briefing on the issue.
Sibgatullin said that the most memorable event is that Bolgar historical and architectural complex is included in the list of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage of UNESCO. It should be noted that Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev with the support of Tatarstan authorities has contributed greatly to achieve that.
Another significant event is “Kazan is the cultural capital of the Turkic world”, the project of Turksoy international organization.This year has been a year of remarkable anniversaries, 140 years of Tatar Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Mousa Jalil, 100 years of Kazan Music College named after I.V. Aukhadeev, 80 years of Tatarstan Union of Writers, 90 years State cultural institution "Tatarkino” are among them.
Minister of Culture reminded that Kazan has hosted Literary Courtyards and suggested to conduct 2015 Literary Courtyards in Tatarstan cities and urban-type  settlements.
According to the principal director of the Galiasgar Kamal Tatar National Academic Theatre Farid Bikchetayev, the nomination of the performance based on Norwegian Jon Fosse’s play “A Summer’s Day” for the Golden Mask national award is an important event.
Artistic director of the Kachalov Kazan Academic Russian Great Drama Theatre Alexander Slavutsky said the completion of theatre’s reconstruction is one of the most important events.
The general manager of RT National Museum Gulchachak Nazipova thanked the journalists for their work during the Year of Culture.
Summing up, Tatarstan Minister of Culture said that he supports the idea of holding the New Wave music festival in Kazan.
