Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in session “The Russia Outlook” in Davos

On January 23, on the last day of his working visit to Davos, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the session of the World Economic Forum, dedicated to Russia’s perspectives for further economic growth.
Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, Chairman of VTB Bank Management Board Andrey Kostin, professor of St. Petersburg State University Alexei Kudrin participated in the event.
Such issues as Russia’s responding to macroeconomic pressures, navigating in a volatile economic context and the impact of Western sanctions on Russia were under discussion. Igor Shuvalov noted that the sanctions are unpleasant and uncomfortable for our country; however, the Russian government is planning to make the most of the current situation.
Igor Shuvalov pointed out that Russia is a multi-ethnic country, and cited Tatarstan Republic as an example of comfortable and peaceful coexistence of multi-ethnic and multi-confessional population.
In addition, Rustam Minnikhanov attended the business breakfast held by Sberbank of Russia within the framework of the forum.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatutllin informed that in the current year the Ministry will take part in implementation of five national projects and three state programmes with planned construction and capital overhaul of 172 facilities for the total sum of 17bn rubles.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov informed that it is expected to achieve a comparable growth of produce of 1.5%, including that in food production - at least 2.6% in the agricultural sector.
On 4 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situation and ensuring fire safety of the republic, has taken a decision to put into operation the “Buran” (Snow storm) plan in Tatarstan starting from 2 pm on 4 January until the consequences of adverse meteorological events are eliminated by ministries, departments and organizations which ensure the smooth movement of road and rail transport in winter.
On 3 January on the errand from the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situations and ensuring fire safety of the republic , held an urgent meeting of the Commission which discussed readiness of forces and means to ensure security during the New Year and Christmas holidays.
