Asgat Safarov: “Tatarstan mass media industry is one of the most developed in Russia”

On February 9, at a session of Regional press and mass communications agency, Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administrative Office Asgat Safarov said that Tatarstan mass media industry is one of the most developed in Russia.

Making the main report at the session, Head of the agency Airat Zaripov said that 1,043 agencies are registered in the republic, 161 newspapers and 52 magazines are published in Tatar language.

Within the framework of the programme “Development of television and radio broadcasting in Russian Federation” in 2014, the second digital TV broadcasting multiplex was launched at all major TV centers of the republic. Last year the agency organized 140 press conferences and tours at enterprises and socially significant facilities. Very important events such as the 70th anniversary of victory in Great Patriotic War, 95th anniversary of TASSR, and 25th anniversary of new statehood of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Year of literature in Russia, the Year of parks and squares in Tatarstan, and the World Aquatics Championship will be held this year.

Telling about the concept of development of the television in Tatarstan, Deputy of Tatarstan State Council, Director General of TNV company Ilshat Aminov said that there are four main tasks: broadcasting of regional channels in all environments and platforms; technical and technological tasks; content and organizational structure of TV broadcasting.

Summing up, Safarov said that informational space is developing in the republic and authorities pay much attention to mass media and invest a lot of money in the industry. He also noted that Tatarstan Government is considering a package of anti-crisis measures.

Safarov also addressed the agency with request to organize work on preparing for the 70th anniversary of victory in Great Patriotic War and creating a special website dedicated to Great Patriotic War. Other important events should also be widely covered in media.

Safarov thanked representatives of media agencies for their work and handed over a few awards.
