Aleksey Pesoshin: The Federal Migration Service in Tatarstan is in position to effectively deal with any challenges

On February 12, speaking at a session of the Federal Migration Service in Tatarstan Acting Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin appreciated its work done in 2014. “The Federal Migration Service in Tatarstan is in position to effectively deal with any challenges,” he said.
Making a report on results of work in 2014, Head of Federal Migration Service in Tatarstan Sergey Chepushtanov said that by and large 172,000 people were registered by the migration service last year.
According to Chepushtanov, Tatarstan ranks third in the Volga Federal District in the number of people registered by the migration registration, following after Samara and Nizhny Novgorod regions.
Chepushtanov went on to say that the number of foreigners living in the republic increases every year. Today as many as 20,000 foreign citizens live in Tatarstan either permanently or temporarily, of whom almost 4,000 people were issued a temporary residence permit last year alone, while another 2,500 people got a permanent residence permit. "They are the ones who decided to settle down in our country and become Russian citizens," he said.
Speaking at the meeting Pesoshin said that such issues as illegal migration and illegal employment are still of major concern for the Tatarstan Department. "The negative consequences of such violations are increase in crime, failure to comply with the tax law, massive outflow of funds to the countries of residence of migrants, tension in the social sphere," he summed up.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
On 2 March in her address on the occasion of the Mentor’s Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: “Since 2025 this holiday established by Russian President Vladimir Putin has occupied a worthy place in the calendar of significant dates of our country, emphasizing the high status and significance of the mentoring mission.
On 28 February, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Director of the Fund “The Institute of Development of Tatarstan Cities” Nailya Nagumanova informed about preparation to the implementation of the Our Yard programme in the republic.
