Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov: “Participants of forum “Stable development of Russian cities” may evaluate advantages of special economic zone “Alabuga”

Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov took part in plenary session of the III international forum “Stable development of Russian cities” in Elabuga. Opening ceremony was held on the territory of special economic zone “Alabuga”. The forum was organized by RF Ministry of regional development, RT Cabinet, Council of Elabuga municipal region and Elabuga city, and specialists of European Conference of ministries responsible for regional/ spatial planning (SEMAT).

Experts in urbanistics, development and realization of strategies of cities’ development, specialist in the sphere of developing city communities and municipal management, practicing city managers, mayors and parliamentarians from Russian and world cities were attracted to take part in the event. By and large there were 400 specialists in urbanistics from different countries.

RF Deputy minister of regional development Sergey Yurpalov opened the III international forum “Stable development of Russian cities”. Tatarstan minister of economy Marat Safiullin made a report at plenary session. He told about work that is being done in republic on overcoming negative consequences of world financial crisis. By his words currently the situation at labour market is still tense. The unemployment is growing, net remuneration and money income of population are falling down. Marat Safiullin considers decrease of availability of financial funds to be the second problem which restrains the development of economy.

Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov speaking to participants of forum noted that they have an excellent possibility to see special economic zone of industrial type “Alabuga”. He said that “Alabuga” is a good place for holding such forums.

The forum lasts for 2 days. The following topics are planned to be discussed: “City community and modern strategies of cities”, “Cities of Russian hopes. Features of development of cities and territories chosen for realization of large-scale federal projects”, “State policy in the sphere of developing monoprofile territories”, “City as territory of knowledge, creativity and high standards”.

Head of RT President office Yury Kamaltynov, Deputy chairman of RT state council Rimma Ratnikova, RT Minister of industry and trade Ravil Zaripov, Head of Elabuga municipal region, Mayor of Elabuga Ilshat Gafarov took part in the forum.
