Mintimer Shaimiev: “We understood the importance of scientific support of historical complexes”

On March 3, the International seminar “Protection and administration of the Assumption Cathedral and Trinity Church of Sviyazhsk, the territory of Sviyazhsk and buffer zone” opened in Kazan.
The event is organized by Russian and Tatarstan ministries of culture and Regional Foundation of the Revival of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan Federal University, Kazan State University of Culture and Art, Institute of archeology named after A.Khalikov, State historical and architectural and art museum “The island town of Sviyazhsk”, and Russian historical society.
The main purpose of the seminar is development of management principles and mechanisms for preservation, restoration, research and promotion of cultural heritage sites the Assumption Cathedral and Trinity Church located in Sviyazhsk.
Representatives of Russian Ministry of Culture, Democritus University, National research university “Higher School of Economics”, Tyumen State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra, Moscow State Integrated Museum Reserve, Kizhi State Ope-air Museum, Tatarstan museum reserves and other Russian and foreign experts in the sphere of preservation, restoration and research of cultural and historical heritage sites, medieval and monumental painting and icon painting will take part in the seminar.
Tatarstan State Counsellor, Chairman of the Board of guardians of “Revival” Foundation Mintimer Shaimiev, Deputy Chairman of Tatarstan State Council, CEO of the Regional Foundation “Revival” Tatyana Larionova, Minister of Culture Airat Sibagatullin, professor of Democritus University Prepis Alkiviadis and other officials took part in a solemn opening of the seminar.
Speaking at the event, Airat Sibagatullin said that Tatarstan has shown a good example of close cooperation between the government and research centers during the last few years.
Mintimer Shaimiev welcomed participants of the seminar and noted that a close-knit team deals with revival of material and non-material heritage. He thanked everyone for work in Bolgar and noted that the “Revival” Foundation carries out work in Sviyazhsk.
Shaimiev told as well that during preparation of Bolgar nomination four international conferences on history of ancient Bolgar civilization were held in Altai, Bulgaria, Crimea and Bolgar.
It was noted that the work on inclusion of Sviyazhsk objects in UNESCO World Heritage List is underway.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
