Rustam Minnikhanov meets Ambassador of the Netherlands to Russia Ron van Dartel

On March 18, at his meeting with Ambassador of the Netherlands to Russia Ron van Dartel in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the republic is interested in having Dutch business at its innovative sites, including SEZ “Alabuga” and Innopolis.

Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed the guests and noted that he appreciates the opportunity to develop cooperation with the Netherlands within the framework of relations between Russia and the Netherlands. He also thanked the ambassador for attention to Tatarstan and providing favourable conditions for regional cooperation.

Minnikhanov reminded that cooperation with Dutch colleagues is realized within the framework of the Association of innovative regions of Russia. He noted that he visited Amsterdam with Russian delegation in April 2013 when a number of agreements on cooperation in innovative sphere and memorandum on mutual understanding were signed with Tatarstan Ministry of Health. Tatarstan is interested in cooperation with the Netherlands in agricultural industry, engineering, petrochemistry, banking sector and innovative sphere, exchange of students, medical tourism and organization of exhibitions and internships for Tatarstan specialists in Dutch clinics.

“The Kingdom of the Netherlands is our strategic partner in agricultural industry,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. He also reminded that such projects as “Kama bacon”, and “Chelny Broiler” were realized with participation of Dutch specialists.

Ron van Dartel, in turn, said that he is visiting Russian regions because he considers dialogue to be an important part of cooperation, especially in the current situation. Dutch companies are interested in developing business contacts with Russian partners.

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov, Aide to Tatarstan President on international and foreign economic affairs Radik Gimatdinov, Minister of Health Adel Vafin took part in the meeting.
