24 March 2015, Tuesday

On March 24, during his working trip to Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov held a meeting on support of labour market in the republic. Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Protection Elmira Zaripova, representatives of administration of Naberezhnye Chelny and heads of local enterprises took part in the meeting.

Opening the meeting, Ildar Khalikov called for developing measures on supporting labour market without waiting for federal and regional financial help.

Making a keynote report, Zaripova noted that more than 1 million 974 thousand people work for the regional economy today. However, there is a decrease in all economic sectors mainly in small and medium-sized enterprises.

Every week the number of unemployed people increases by 300 people.

Ildar Khalikov asked employees of the ministry to find a solution for every dismissed worker.

According to Zaripova, 17, 613 people are registered at regional job centers. The unemployment level in the republic (0.94 per cent) is lower than in Russia (1.3 per cent) and Volga Federal District (1.1 per cent).

Summing up, Khalikov called heads of regional agencies and ministries to motivate employers for creating new jobs.
