Members of the commission WorldSkills International (WSI) arrive on inspection visit in Kazan

On March 24, Members of the commission WorldSkills International (WSI) led by President of WorldSkills International Simon Bartley , who arrived with an inspection visit in Kazan, were met by Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Minister of Education and Science Engel Fattakhov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and Director General of ANO “Executive directorate of sports projects” Azat Kadyrov at Kazan international airport.
On March 25, members of the commission will attend an official foundation stone laying ceremony at WorldSkillsArena (Laishevo region, Tatarstan). Presentation of Kazan bid for the right to host WorldSkillsCompetition 2019 will be held at Kazan City hall in the afternoon.
Russia submitted the bid for the right to host WorldSkillsCompetition in January 2015. If Russia wins the competitions will be held in Kazan. Other candidates for hosting the competitions are Charleroi and Paris.

On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
On 1 December Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in N.I. Lobachevsky Prize and Medal Award Ceremony held in Kazan Federal University and handed in the award to the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chief Researcher of the St. Petersburg Department of Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Ivanov who was awarded for the outstanding achievements in fundamental and applied mathematics.
