Rustam Minnikhanov tells about investment climate in the Republic of Tatarstan at Annual Investment Meeting in Dubai

On March 30, at Annual Investment Meeting in Dubai, Acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov told about investment climate in the Republic of Tatarstan.

AIM-2015 is the international forum dedicated to industry and investments. It is aimed at strengthening international trading cooperation, presentation of projects and companies, and the conference of its main participants.

The theme of AIM-2015 is “Sustainable development through FDI Induced Innovation and Technology Transfer”.

At the forum Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a panel discussion about the role of foreign investments in sustainable development. The speakers were Secretary of the International Chamber of Commerce John Danilovich, UN Deputy Secretary General Kandeh Yumkella, and Executive Director of the International Trade Centre Arancha González.

Minnikhanov informed that Tatarstan is the leading region in Russia in many areas, including economic and social spheres.

“We pay special attention to infrastructure. Out technology and industrial parks are fully prepared sites for investors. We work with investors using “one-stop” principle. Also, the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency is responsible for support of all projects,” Tatarstan President said. He added that investors pay much attention to Alabuga special economic zone, with favourable climate, tax and customs benefits are provided for residents.

Answering the questions of the moderator, Rustam Minnikhanov said that the republic is interested in investments in petrochemical sphere, automotive production and wood processing.

According to Minnikhanov, economic development of Russia is facing a challenging situation, therefore, promotion of investments is a priority task for Tatarstan as a Russian region. Cooperation with Asian and Eastern countries is especially important for the republic.
