Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan companies have great energy saving potential

On April 1, speaking at a meeting of Tatarstan Government dedicated to implementation of a state programme of energy-saving and advanced energy-efficiency of the republic in 2014-2020, Acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan enterprises have great energy saving potential.
The event was held in Kazan at the Kazan Fair Exhibition Center within the framework of the opening of the XVI International specialized exhibition "Energy. Resource saving "and XV International symposium "Energy and resource efficiency and energy saving". Acting Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin, Chairman of the State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, representatives of federal and regional authorities and other officials took part in the meeting.
Welcoming participants, Minnikhanov noted that the national industry needs to remain competitive under the current economic conditions. According to him, to do this it is necessary to develop energy saving programme: to introduce modern technology, new management systems and lean production technologies. He stressed that the major Tatarstan companies have realized it earlier and work on this.
"We all need to be actively involved into this, starting from individual consumers to small and medium enterprises,” Rustam Minnikhanov said, adding that without the implementation of energy saving programmes regional enterprises will not be able to compete in the international market.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
