Keel-laying ceremony of Grayvoron small-size missile ship held at Zelenodolsk Gorky shipyard

On April 10, a solemn ceremony of the keel-laying of the ninth serial Grayvoron small-size missile ship of Project 21631 and commissioning of new equipment at the assembly workshop: flat section and bridge structure assembly line, micro-panel assembly line - were held at the Zelenodolsk shipyard.

Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Russian Deputy Minister of Defence Yuri Borisov and other Russian and local officials took part in the event.

Project 21631 small-size missile ships designed by the Zelenodolsk Design Bureau and being built by the shipyard for the Russian Navy are multi-purpose river-sea ships. Their purpose is to provide safety and protection of the economic zone of the country. Russian corvette is almost invisible to the enemy radar, can assist landing troops, hit sea, land and air targets. Its main weapon is the high-precision cruise missiles.

Khalikov noted that today’s ceremony is a landmark event both for the shipyard and the whole republic.
