Rustam Minnikhanov and Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasi-Zade discuss issues of mutually beneficial cooperation

On April 14, during his working visit to Baku, Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasi-Zade to discuss issues of mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of Azerbaijan-Russia relations.

Artur Rasi-Zade said that relations with Russia are important for Azerbaijan and much emphasis is put on cooperation with Tatarstan. He reminded about opening of assembly production of KAMAZ trucks at Ganja Auto Plant that will help strengthening relations with Tatarstan.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Artur Rasi-Zade for an opportunity to meet and discuss issues of cooperation. The current visit is aimed at expanding trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation, Minnikhanov said.

“The Tatarstan delegation consists of heads of ministries and agencies, leading industrial companies of the republic. We hope that Tatarstan and Azerbaijan businessmen will fund new areas for cooperation and joint projects,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

“Opening of KAMAZ assembly production is very important for us. Tatarstan and Azerbaijan have a big potential for cooperation, especially in industrial sector. Unfortunately, we are not using our potential to the full. We need to increase sales turnover and the range of products,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

Participants of the meeting discussed cooperation between Tatarstan and Azerbaijan in the sphere of petrochemistry, engineering, production of home appliances, and agriculture.
