Prime Minister of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and chief of Directorate of railway stations - branch of JSC "RZD" Sergey Abramov discussed issues of operation of republican stations

The issues of functioning of railway stations in territory of Republic Tatarstan were discussed today during a meeting at the RT Cabinet RT head of the RT Government of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and chief of railway stations Directorate - branch of JSC «RZD » Sergey Abramov.

The parties raised such subjects as prospects of cooperation in conditions of reforming "RZD" and development of transport infrastructure of the republic.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, greater teamwork is necessary during preparation of Kazan for reception of sportsmen, tourists and visitors of the University game in 2013. «certainly, by then Kazan, its appearance will be perfectly another, but all the conceived is impossible without change of a transport infrastructure, transport unit », -RT Prime minister said.

Besides Kazan, in Rustam Minnikhanov's opinion, other railway stations in cities of Tatarstan require modernization and reconstruction.

During the meeting parties exchanged opinions that today it is necessary to transform railway stations into modern transport-transit units to saturate them with new services for passengers, and to provide greater speeds for transportation of passengers.

In Rustama Minnikhanov's opinion, it is necessary to consider such issues like overlapping of schedules of railway transportation with bus transportations, work of underground.

Over such a serious problem - overlapping of transport streams including cargo transportations - we yet did not work, noted head of the RT government.

Chief of Directorate of railway stations - branch of "RZD" Sergey Abramov informed, that up to the end of year it is necessary to be defined with a format of participation in a number of joint projects and programs. In particular, he confirmed, that during preparation for the University game of 2013 in republic « it is possible to solve qualitatively the problem of formation of a transport infrastructure ».

Participants of the meeting have considered the problem of using near station areas and elimination of spontaneous trade on them. Besides on example of station Naberezhnye Chelny has been considered a question of a rent in a building of station and location there services of road service station.

In more detail, the l participants of meeting discussed a question of modernization of station Kazan by 2013 (construction of canopies above platforms, provision with lifts, transitions and so forth). In opinion of experts, today, the station of Kazan copes with loading (there passes 41 pair trains, including 32 pairs transit).
Further, the parties discussed the plan for developing station Vosstanie (Kazan).

As Sergey Abramov stated, today it is required to provide a complex approach to reconstruction of stations - when the station becomes trasport -tranzition unit, and socially-business centre, but its services can take advantage not only passengers, but the townspeople.
