Ildar Khalikov: High-speed railway is needed for Russia’s development

On April 17, at the opening of regional information center of “Moscow-Kazan” high-speed railway, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov welcomed participants of the event and said that a high-speed railway is needed for Russia’s development and expansion of cooperation with Asian partners.
Ildar Khalikov noted that at all times transport helped to stimulate development of new territories, expand contacts between countries and raised living standards of citizens.
On behalf of all citizens of Tatarstan Khalikov thanked leadership of OAO “Russian railways” for their assistance in opening of the information center. He added that this railway will be called Moscow-Kazan-Beijing in future.
First vice-president of OAO “Russian railways” Aleksandr Misharin thanked Tatarstan leadership for organization of the opening ceremony.
Russian Deputy Minister of Transport Aleksei Tsydenov, who took part in the event, said that the high-speed railway is the biggest investment project in contemporary history of Russia. He compared it with opening of the Trans-Siberian Railway. Tsydenov noted that Tatarstan leadership renders assistance in construction of “Moscow-Kazan” railway.
Deputy Head of Chinese State committee on development and reforms Hu Zucai said that the project will favour development of relations between Russia and China in the sphere of railway construction.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
On 2 March in her address on the occasion of the Mentor’s Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: “Since 2025 this holiday established by Russian President Vladimir Putin has occupied a worthy place in the calendar of significant dates of our country, emphasizing the high status and significance of the mentoring mission.
