Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in launching of full-cycle production of Ford Transit at SEZ “Alabuga”

On April 21, Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Ford-Sollers Ted Cannis, first vice-president and CEO of Ford-Sollers Adil Shirinov, Director General of SEZ “Alabuga” Timur Shagivaleev, Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Ravil Zaripov took part in launching of full-cycle production of Ford Transit at SEZ “Alabuga”.
Upon arrival Rustam Minnikhanov visited production facilities of the plant and was told that Ford-Sollers had been modernized and new equipment installed before launching the production. In particular, a high-tech welding system and new robotic equipment for the paint line were installed.
Ford Fiesta, Ecosport, Mondeo, ambulance, “social”, and school cars were shown to Minnikhanov.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov said the event was important for Tatarstan and Russia. He noted that it is the third full-cycle production launched at Ford-Sollers, which was the first resident of SEZ “Alabuga”.
Ted Cannis said the company is interested in expanding cooperation with Tatarstan.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
