Aleksei Miller and Rustam Minnikhanov launch production of KAMAZ compressed natural gas trucks

On April 22, Board Chairman of OAO “Gasprom” Aleksei Miller came to Naberezhnye Chelny to take part in solemn launching of production of KAMAZ compressed natural gas trucks. He was accompanied by Acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Director General of OAO “KAMAZ” Sergey Kogogin, and Head of executive committee of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeev.
“Launching of this production line will increase the use of natural gas and improve ecological safety in the republic. We have seen the whole product range today. I congratulate you on such an important event,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
“This event is very important for developing the market of natural gas fuel in Russia. The volume of sales of natural gas vehicles has increased four times, and the Republic of Tatarstan, KAMAZ and Gasprom have made their considerable contribution,” Miller said. He thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for partnership and joint work.
According to Sergey Kogogin, KAMAZ has a sufficient potential to convert 50 per cent of public transport to natural gas.
The compressed natural gas enables reducing toxic substance in exhaust emissions. Moreover, its cost is three times less than diesel fuel.
Kogogin stated that Tatarstan is a pilot project to implement to use natural gas as the motor fuel.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
On 2 March in her address on the occasion of the Mentor’s Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: “Since 2025 this holiday established by Russian President Vladimir Putin has occupied a worthy place in the calendar of significant dates of our country, emphasizing the high status and significance of the mentoring mission.
