Rustam Minnikhanov: We are proud of having trustworthy relations with Turkey

On April 29, during his working trip to Ankara, Acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the concert of masters of art of the Republic of Tatarstan at Congresium International Convention & Exhibition Centre. Mayor of Ankara Melih Gekchek, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, and Minister of Culture Airat Sibagatullin took part in the event.
The guests looked around the exhibition of arts and crafts and photo exhibition “Tatarstan as viewed by Turkish photographers”.
Rustam Minnikhanov and Melih Gekchek noted that Tatarstan and Turkey have so much in common in the sphere of culture and art.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Mayor of Ankara for reception and noted that cooperation between Ankara and Tatarstan is, to a large extent, realized due to Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
“We are proud of having trustworthy relations with Turkey,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. He noted that many Turkish investors start running their business in Tatarstan.
Melih Gekchek thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for the visit and noted that Kazan and Ankara are twin cities. He informed that an agreement on realization of the programme of joint activity between Kazan and Ankara was signed today.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
