Rustam Minnikhanov discusses prospects of further cooperation with Turkish businessmen

On April 30, during his working trip to Ankara, Acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov discussed prospects of further cooperation with Turkish businessmen. Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, members of Tatarstan delegation and Turkish businessmen took part in the discussion.
Rustam Minnikhanov told that the Tatarstan delegation had held a number of official meetings in Ankara and he was going to get familiar with Turkish technologies of improvement of public spaces.
“Today we can offer investors good conditions to run business in Tatarstan. We will do our best to favour successful implementation of projects in the republic,’ Minnikhanov said.
Nihat Zeybekci briefly told about his last visit to Tatarstan, Alabuga Special Economic Zone and other sites in March, and noted that Tatarstan offers great conditions for investors.
“Russia is a prospective strategic partner of Turkey and economies of both countries complement each other,” Zeybekci said. Total trade turnover between Russia and Turkey makes 32 billion roubles.
One of Turkish businessmen expressed his intentions to launch production of plastics in Tatarstan, and asked Rustam Minnikhanov about condition of raw material base in the republic.
Rustam Minnikhanov answered that Tatarstan is the biggest producer of plastics in Russia, and the strategy of economic and social development of the Republic of Tatarstan until 2030 implies increase in production volume of petrochemicals. “We are ready to offer investors attractive conditions, including preferential taxation” he said.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
