Rustam Minnikhanov: Successful completion of spring field campaign is our number one task

On May 5, at his meeting with leaders of households, investors and heads of rural settlements of Chistopol region of the republic, Acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov discussed the course of spring field work.

Earlier on May 5, Minnikhanov made a working trip to Alkeevsk, Alekseevsk and Chistopol regions of Tatarstan. Upon his arrival in Chistopol region, Minnikhanov had a meeting with leaders of local housholds. Acting President was reported that the total area of arable land is 110,252 hectares in the region. The sowing campaign has been completed at 27 per cent.

Minnikhanov emphasized that successful and timely completion of spring field works is task number one for the republic. "We were late a little with the beginning of works this season. But, despite this, the sowing should be completed on time," he said.

Acting President said that special attention should be given to dignified celebrations dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the WWII. "This is a very important event for our country. Put in order memorials, cemeteries. It is necessary to continue this work after May 9 also," he gave an errand.

In his turn Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov, who also took part in the meeting, noted that Chistopol region has large sowing load. However, the technical equipment of local farmers is not at the highest level. "People have to work hard. It is necessary to treat every square meter of land and to retain moisture in the soil," he said.

Head of Chistopol Executive Committee Dmitry Ivanov said that works on attraction of investors in the Chistopol industrial park are underway. Thus, one of the residents plans to open a poultry processing plant in the park soon.

Then, Rustam Minnikhanov went to the nearest Kutlushkino village, where he got acquainted with the progress of major overhaul of school for 100 children and laid flowers to the monument to veterans of the World War II.
