Rustam Minnikhanov: We pay special attention to rehabilitation and protection of environment

On May 15, at the Kazan City Hall, Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Sergey Zaitsev, Volga interregional environmental prosecutor Veniamin Selifanov, Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administrative Office Asgat Safarov took part in a solemn ceremony on the occasion of 25th anniversary of Volga interregional environmental prosecutor's office.
Participants of the event watched a documentary film about ecological situation in Volga basin and work of Volga interregional environmental prosecutor's office.
Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated employees and veterans of Volga interregional environmental prosecutor's office on the 25th anniversary.
Environmental prosecutor's office has made a considerable contribution to ensuring ecological safety in Volga basin. Interdepartmental interaction aimed at increasing efficiency of execution of water, forest and land legislation.
“Tatarstan is a rapidly developing Russian region with the biggest centres of oil production, petrochemistry and engineering. The republic is rich in natural resources and our task is to save it for future generations,” Minnikhanov stressed.
“We pay special attention to rehabilitation and protection of environment. The network of specially protected conservation areas is developing. Work on protection of natural and biospheric resources, and air basin is carried out,” Minnikhanov continued.
He noted that employees of Tatarstan environmental prosecutor's office, who are very responsible people, play an important role.
Kazan interregional environmental prosecutor's office and other supervision organizations were ensuring ecological safety during the World summer Universiade 2013, and now active measures are being taken as a part of preparation for World Aquatics Championship 2015.
According to Minnikhanov, interaction of the state and society, mechanisms of public control are important for successful realization of nature protection measures.
“2015 was announced the year of parks and squares. We are preparing a programme of water protection areas for 2016 to make our republic cleaner,” Minnikhanov said.
“Our joint efforts will help us to provide proper recreation conditions in unique conservation areas. I am hoping for further strengthening of cooperation to ensure citizens’ rights for favourable environment and ecological safety of the state,” Minnikhanov summarized.
On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
