Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan Republic is planning to attract small and medium-sized businesses to its petrochemical industry

On May 21, within the framework of his working visit to Ufa, Acting President of Tatarstan Republic Rustam Minnikhanov participated in the opening ceremony of the 5th International Chemical Forum “Bolshaya Khimiya” to be aimed at discussing strategy of chemical industry development under new economic and political conditions.
Prior to plenary session, Rustam Minnikhanov with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich and Plenipotentiary of the Russian President in Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich attended the business breakfast and discussed a number of issues related to petrochemical and machinery manufacturing industries as well as supply of raw materials.
Making a report at the plenary session, Rustam Minnikhanov outlined that Tatarstan is one of the leading petrochemical regions of Russia and petrochemical complex and machinery manufacturing industry are defined as growing points in social and economic development of the republic till 2030.
Such promising projects as the chemical complex “Ammoni” to produce methanol, fertilizers and nitrocompounds, the plant to process 6 million tons of oil per year and the ethylene complex are planned to be launched. Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan also noted the republic is planning to attract small and medium-sized businesses to its petrochemical industry as it will lead to foundation of new enterprises in the republic.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated the participants on upcoming Chemist’s Day.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich and Plenipotentiary of the Russian President in Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich presented their reports in the forum. Arkady Dvorkovich said that import substitution in petrochemical industry has been planned in Russia. Mikhail Babich put emphasis on availability of raw materials, relations with suppliers and balance of resources.
It should be noted that Rustam Minnikhanov mentioned the raw material shortage. According to him, our country is rich in raw materials but they are rather costly. Despite the fact, we are looking for solution of the problem, he added.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
