Rustam Minnikhanov: work on realization of cluster initiatives should be intensified to further and sustainable development of the Association of innovative regions of Russia

On May 22, speaking at a regular board session of the Association of innovative regions of Russia in Tomsk, Acting President of Tatarstan Republic and Board Chairman of the Association Rustam Minnikhanov said that activity of the Association for the last five years can be highly appreciated.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, collaborative work on realization of cluster initiatives, cooperation with Fund for the Promotion in the field of support for innovation projects and cooperation in developing innovative infrastructure should be intensified to provide further and sustainable development of the Association.
Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude for being elected as Board Chairman of the Association and reminded that over the five years the organization has become an established inter-regional ground that includes republics of Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Mordovia, Altai, Krasnoyarsk, Perm and Irkutsk, Kaluga, Lipetsk, Novosibirsk, Samara, Tomsk, Tyumen, Ulyanovsk regions. “Currently, these regions account for 20 percent of research and development expenses, a quarter of technological innovations, one fifth of all innovative output. Every ninth innovative enterprise operates there”, he added.
It should be mentioned that intensive work has been carried out with parliament society on improving legislative environment and in providing favourable investment climate.
The Association cooperates on a regular basis with General Directorate on regional and urban policies of European Commission, European economic commission of the United Nations, France, Germany and the Netherlands and has been developing relations with Switzerland and the USA.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov outlined that the association participated in the work of Council on economic modernization and innovative development of Russia that determines strategic development priorities of the country and its regions.
To the point, Rustam Minnikhanov presented to members of the Association gratitude letters for Association promotion and innovative development of Russian regions.

On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
