Address of Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on the occasion of Russian folk holiday “Karavon”

Dear citizens of Tatarstan!
From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you on a unique Russian folk holiday “Karavon” to be held in Nikolskoe village of Laishevo district! Having great spiritual strength and inexhaustible creative potential accumulated by the Russian people throughout many centuries, the holiday brings its own uniqueness in bright and lively multinational culture of Tatarstan.
It is symbolic that its wide round dance involves participants of all ages, different nationalities and religions and contributes to peaceful interaction and social cohesion of Tatarstan citizens.
Being the holiday of sowing season completion, spring and soil fertility, Karavon are extremely dear to everybody. National folk songs, dances and games unite people and make them closer to each other, discovering new borders of folk arts.
In the year of Literature celebrating Karavon to promote respect to the Russian language, ancient folk songs, traditions and customs is becoming even more significant.
May this holiday bring kindness, comfort and warmth of human comminication in our hearts.

On 12 January, congratulating employees of the prosecutor’s office with their professional holiday - Day of the employee of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation- Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin wrote in his address:
“For more than three centuries the prosecutor's office has been the guardian of state and public security as well as constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens of our country.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatutllin informed that in the current year the Ministry will take part in implementation of five national projects and three state programmes with planned construction and capital overhaul of 172 facilities for the total sum of 17bn rubles.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov informed that it is expected to achieve a comparable growth of produce of 1.5%, including that in food production - at least 2.6% in the agricultural sector.
On 4 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situation and ensuring fire safety of the republic, has taken a decision to put into operation the “Buran” (Snow storm) plan in Tatarstan starting from 2 pm on 4 January until the consequences of adverse meteorological events are eliminated by ministries, departments and organizations which ensure the smooth movement of road and rail transport in winter.
