On May 29, within the framework of IV annual conference “IT technologies in military-industrial complex – 2015” to be held in Innopolis, panel discussion on IT as one of the key factors of national security was carried out. “It is symbolic that such an event is held in Innopolis to be a unique example of constructing innovative satellite-town. The total amount of people in Russia, using the Internet, particularly Mobile one, have reached 58 %. This means new opportunities as well as new threats. Information security is very important from this point of view. We should be sure that human rights on personal data protection are respected. We should do our best so that our country can choose what software, cellular phones and ways of communications to use. These are the issues to have been considered at the conference. All particicpants agreed that Russia  should increase its pace in IT race. And Innopolis as Special Economic Zone allows participating in the race,” Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov said.

Mikhail Babich noted that the project of Innopolis has turned to be successful. “Issues related to information space of Russia are of high priority. IT sphere depends on foreign software and we know how to solve the problem. I can mention Russian communication and technology platform for enterprises of military-industrial complex to have been developed on the basis of Sarov Russian federal nuclear center. In Volga Federal District special measures to provide information security of local authorities are taken. In addition to it, I have to mention that using cloud technologies is not as secure as it seems to be. The regulations in this field are not completely enshrined in the laws,” Russian Presidential Envoy in Volga Federal District added.

Rustam Minnikhanov said that great work has been carried out to host such a forum and thanked the government of the Russian Federation for the trust given. “We came to establishing Special Economic Zones steadily and Russia supported our idea,”Rustam Minnikhanov summarized. He expressed gratitude to CEO of Rostec Corporation Sergey Chemezov and his team and highly appreciated their professionalism.
