Rustam Minnikhanov meets Director General of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Graziano da Silva

On June 24, at their meeting at the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, Interim President of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov and a delegation of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations headed by its Director General Graziano da Silva discussed cooperation within the powers of the organization.
Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed the guests and noted that they had a very busy programme in Moscow and they held a lot of meetings and negotiations. He also congratulated Mr Graziano da Silva on his reelection for the position of Director General.
“Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations is a very important organization of the United Nations that will celebrate its 70th anniversary this year. Today is aims to eliminate poverty and hunger in the world, assist in creating more effective agricultural and food systems, and strengthen global food safety. These issues are important and topical around the world,” Minnikhanov said. He also expressed his hope that the FAO branch that is planned to be open in Moscow will contribute to the common mission and actively cooperate with regions.
Minnikhanov continued that Tatarstan is one of the leading regions by agricultural output, and expects to take up top positions by meat and milk production among other regions.
Rustam Minnikhanov told about agricultural achievements of the republic and regional programmes implemented in this sphere.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov and Graziano da Silva signed a Letter of intent between Kazan University of Agriculture and FAO.

On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
