Ildar Khalikov: FINA requirements for holding World Championship in Kazan completely fulfilled

“Kazan is ready to receive guests and host FINA World Championship. The remaining works are connected with increasing the comfort level of sports teams and spectators,” Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov said at a press conference at the Government House of the republic today.
The Prime Minister noted that in the whole history of world aquatics championships the record number of sportsmen and countries will take part in the championship in Kazan. 2,923 sportsmen and 1,490 officials from 190 countries have been accredited for the championship. The sportsmen will compete for 75 sets of medals.
According to Director of ANO “Executive directorate of sports projects” Azat Kadyrov, sportsmen from 26 countries have already arrived in Kazan, and first official trainings started on July 19.
FINA World championships in Kazan will be held in six kinds of sport: open water swimming (from 25 July to 1 August), synchronized swimming (from July 25 to August 1), diving (from 24 July to 2 August ), water polo (from 26 July to 8 August), high-diving (from 3 to 8 of August) and swimming (from 2 to 9 of August).
Four competition venues will be used during the championships: the Kazan-Arena stadium (swimming and synchronized swimming), Aquatics Palace (diving), Water Polo Arena (water polo) and the Kazanka River near the Kazan Kremlin (high-diving and open water swimming). The training pools of Burevestnik, Olimp, Orgsintez, and Akcharlak will be provided for sportsmen.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
