Oleg Melnichenko reads out greetings from Russian Presidential Envoy in Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich addressed to participants of the Congress of Eurasian local governments

On July 31, Russian Deputy Presidential Envoy in Volga Federal District Oleg Melnichenko welcomed participants of the Congress of Eurasian regional branch of the World organization “United cities and local governments” and said that leadership of Volga Federal District understands the importance of cooperation between regions and foreign partners, personal contacts in youth policy, educational and cultural exchange.
Representatives of one hundred Russian regions and countries of the near abroad came to Kazan take part in an important intentional event.
The congress is aimed at strengthening Eurasian cooperation and increasing the unity of geopolitical region, potential and involvement of local governments in making global solutions.
Results of the rating of international activity of cities will be announced at the congress. The idea to create the rating was discussed at a session of Eurasian regional branch in Aktau (Kazakhstan) in August 2014, and it was supported by participants of the meeting of “United cities and local governments” in Barcelona in February 2015.

On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
