Ildar Khalikov meets Australia Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Paul Myler

On August 10, at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan Prime Minister met Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia to Russia Paul Myler.
“Our cooperation in the field of sport and culture needs to be extended into the economy as well,” Ildar Khalikov said, welcoming the guests. “We need to find common interests that will help us build and strengthen relations between Australia and Tatarstan.”
Tatarstan Prime Minister briefed on the main areas of economic development of the republic, innovation platforms and potential of special economic zones located in Tatarstan. He noted rapid development of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone with its 42 tenants having created more than 5,000 jobs. Khalikov said that in the near future, its territory will be increased, because there is a strong demand from investors who can obtain considerable privileges developing their business in the zone.
“The Alabuga SEZ is able to become a good platform for Australian entrepreneurs to enter the Russian market,” Ildar Khalikov said, in particular.
He went on to tell about the Kama Industrial Park and Master Park, saying that the Master Park is Europe’s largest industrial park measuring 640,000 square metres.
The Innopolis innovation campus located 30 km far from Kazan, could be interesting for investors as well, Ildar Khalikov suggested.
In his turn Paul Myler thanked Khalikov for the warm -reception and well-thought-out agenda. He also expressed his admiration for the organization and holding of the FINA World Aquatics Championships 2015, which closed yesterday in Kazan.
Later the parties discussed issues related to promoting relations in some economy branches in the current economic situation.

On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
