Rustam Minnikhanov considers that crisis will not influence badly on realization of road projects in RT

Notwithstanding world financial crisis realization of large-scale road projects will be continued in Tatarstan. This was said by RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov at session of RT Ministry of transport “On results of RT transport complex activity in 2009 and tasks for 2010”.

Head of RT government considers that one of the key tasks for 2010 is intensification of works at infrastructure objects Universiade 2013. Enormous amount of works is to be implemented, 10 bln. roubles have been allocated for this purpose.

Moreover works on constructing Sviyazhsk interregional multimodal logistics centre and modernization of airport Kazan continue. Another area of works is construction of roads with hard surface to human settlements. 900 settlements in Tatarstan still do not have such roads.

Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that on February, 11 memorandum about creation of joint auto enterprise of “Sollers” and “FIAT”companies with capacity 500 thousand of cars per year was signed with participation of Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin.

Road safety is extremely essential, RT Prime Minster said. Currently, only in Kazan 700 thousand breaches per year are registered via systems of video fixation. It is necessary to improve quality of drivers’ training and intensify control for observance of traffic rules.

Rustam Minnikhanov invited representatives of federal republican ministries and departments to take part in international scientific practical conference “Modern problems of life safety: experience, problems, decision-making”. It will be held in Kazan on February, 26. Representatives of Russian regions, the near and far abroad including USA, Austria, Israel and other countries will gather to discuss problems of life safety. The main topics will be national safety, road and transport safety, psychology and culture of safety.
