On August 21, speaking at plenary session of regional August meeting of Tatarstan education and science employees on “Modern education: new strategic guidelines – new solutions”, Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that "Tatarstan has became a model region for the entire country in many areas over the past five years, we have made a qualitative leap in the development".

Minnikhanov briefly outlined the investment projects, being implemented in the republic. "A serious impetus was given to the development of federal and national research universities. The creation of engineering centers, such as "KAI-Laser", Health Sciences Center is a good example of the integration of science and industry. A center of chemical sciences is being formed," he said in particular.

Minnikhanov continued that the agro-industrial complex is steadily developing in the republic, with conditions and infrastructure provided for doing business, such as a network of industrial parks, business and technology parks, including the largest Kama Industrial Park 'Master', Himgrad technopolis, eight business incubators. In addition, the region has already created more than 40 municipal industrial sites.

"Tatarstan is an innovative region and we have to prove this status by our work. The development of the republic is impossible without innovative development of the education system. Our task is to bring up and train a new generation of like-minded people and professionals. A generation that can ensure the continued growth of the economy. It is important to take into account global trends, positive experience of the regions, using the most advanced technology. I am convinced that training of highly qualified specialists must begin with family education and include all levels of education taking into account the economic situation in the country," Minnikhanov said.
