Rustam Minnikhanov: Naberezhnye Chelny has a great potential for development

On September 7, during his working trip to Naberezhnye Chelny Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met activists of the city.
Welcoming the audience, Minnikhanov noted that the difficult economic situation in the country influences the life of the republic and the automotive industry in particular. He continued that KAMAZ truck manufacturer includes more than 150 organizations located in Russia, the CIS and abroad. Together with related industries the number of citizens employed in the automotive industry is more than 52 thousand people, he said, adding that it is not surprising that the situation at the KAMAZ has a significant effect on the social well-being of the whole city.
"Nevertheless a number of measures to support the auto giant both at the federal and regional levels are being taken: a large-scale modernization of production facilities and search for new markets are underway. This means that we have a good perspective, strong teams,” Minnikhanov said.
He stressed that Naberezhnye Chelny is a strategic city, not only for the republic, but for the whole Russia.
“It is planned to increase the volume of industrial production by 3 times - up to 2 trillion roubles by 2020. Naberezhnye Chelny is the cluster center. It is also of great importance," Minnikhanov said.
He stressed there are a number of challenges today. We know our bottlenecks and try to eliminate them, he said.
At the ceremony of handing in state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan held afterwards several citizens of Naberezhnye Chelny were awarded honorary titles of the Republic of Tatarstan.

On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
