Rustam Minnikhanov and Sergei Korotkov discussed conditions of preparing trust agreement between Tatarstan and UNIDO

Today,  Prime minister of Republic Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has received   of director of the Center of international industrial cooperation UNIDO in the Russian Federation Sergei Korotkov at  the House of  RT Government.

Thematter in hand   was a question of creating a UNIDO  design center  in the republic, and  about preparation and signing trust  agreement between UNIDO   and   the  Republic of  Tatarstan.

We  remind   that on December 10th, 2009 in  Vein (Austria)  the Memorandum of cooperation between the Organization of the United Nations on industrial development (UNIDO ) and the  Republic of  Tatarstan   was signed. The document assumes mutually advantageous cooperation of the parties in such areas, as energy efficiency and energy saving, ecology and biotechnologies, development of alternative power in view of world  tendencies.

Signing  of trust  agreement  should  mark the beginning of partnership between  UNIDO  and  the  Republic  of Tatarstan.

As Aide  to  RT  Prime minister  on foreign trade activities Iskander Muflikhanov   informed upon end  of a meeting, the trust   agreement is a  standard document which UNIDO   signs with regions.

Further,  creation of  UNIDO  design center  in Tatarstan,  which must   become a certain link between RT  Government  and  UNIDO organization  is supposed.

Iskander Muflikhanov  explained  that by efforts of   design center  specialists  an  appendix to trust  agreement - the design document  should be prepared. In this design document, as a rule, concrete steps are  reflected  within the limits of  UNIDO and regions  cooperation.

By words  of   Aide to   Prime minister,   signing of all necessary documents   helps   Tatarstan to become a full member of UNIDO  and  participate   in a number of the international projects, to attract  foreign investors, to receive consultations of the international financial institutions and so forth

The spectrum of questions on  cooperation between  Tatarstan and UNIDO  today is huge, Iskander Muflikhanov said.  These are problems of resource energy efficiency, processing and recycling  of waste with use of secondary raw material, transfer  of some productions  on ecologically safe raw material, etc.

The project  of trust  agreement  with  UNIDO  is supposed to be prepared in the nearest months.

Besides,  during a meeting  between  RT  Prime minister   Rustam Minnikhanov and Sergei Korotkov,  the   preparation of visit to Kazan   by  UNIDO  general director  Mr. Kandeh Yumkella  (May-June, 2010) was discussed.
