Rustam Minnikhanov: “Respectful attitude towards armed forces is the evidence of authority and power of the country”

RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated Tatarstan citizens on Defender of the Motherland Day.

“Dear friends!
I congratulate you on holiday of courage and military glory - Defender of the Motherland Day! This year it acquires particular importance since we’ll celebrate 65-anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War.

Dear veterans!
It is so difficult to express all depth of appreciation and respect towards you. We are eternally indebted to you. I’d like to wish all the veterans of Republic strong health, long years, family wellbeing and assure that we’ll try to do our best in order you live comfortably.

February, 23 is a real national holiday. According to traditions we honour those soldiers, who have already done military duty, and young men which are to do it.

Safety, sovereignty and integrity of state, public peace and confidence in the future are merits of our army. Respectful attitude towards armed forces is the evidence of authority and power of the country.

But the Motherland means not only enormous country, it is the city you live in, ancestral home, family and work. This holiday reminds us that every real man should uphold and increase main living values by every day constructive labour.

I especially congratulate those who wear military uniform. Army working days have never been easy; still our guys serve wholeheartedly as real men should.
