Tatarstan and Slovenia sign memorandum on cooperation at the Kazan Kremlin

On September 15, at the Kazan Kremlin, Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Slovenia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Karl Erjavec signed a memorandum on cooperation in economy, research, technology, environmental protection, culture, and other fields between the government of Tatarstan and government of Republic of Slovenia.
Karl Erjavec told reporters that relations between Russia and Slovenia are quite friendly, and the signing of memorandum was one more piece of evidence to prove it, at the same time offering opportunities to increase the cooperation.
“Generally speaking, we want to step up cooperation with Russian regions, and Slovenia companies see great possibilities in Tatarstan. We see prospects for cooperation in the fields of information technologies, healthcare and agriculture. We would like to use these possibilities,” he said.
Minnikhanov noted Tatarstan is one of Russia’s leading regions that should demonstrate prospects for cooperation between the countries. “The potential for partnership between Russia and Slovenia is great. Tatarstan and Slovenia have long-standing good relations. The fact that the Russian intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, research and technology cooperation meets in Kazan is a momentous event,” he concluded.
Russian Minister of Mass Communications Nikolai Nikiforov, Aide to Tatarstan President Radik Gimatdinov, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, and other officials took part in the ceremony.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
