Chairman of the federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov sent greetings telegrams to Rustam Minnikhanov in connection with winning the presidential elections.

“I am sure that your experience, commitment, knowledge of problems of the republic, your skill to make constructive and balanced decisions will favour consolidation of the statehood, development of the economic potential of the region, and raise wellbeing of people,” Valentina Matviyenko said in her telegram.

Sergey Lavrov’s telegram reads:

“The fact that you have been reelected for this senior position is clear evidence of appreciation of your merits of a talented and effective manager. Your contribution to progressive social and economic development of the region, support of inter-ethnic peace and concord can hardly be overestimated. We appreciate constructive cooperation with Tatarstan administration in terms of improving its international and foreign economic relations.”
