Kazan wins the right to host WorldSkills Russia – 2018

On October 2, during the International investment forum Sochi-2015, it was announced that WorldSkills Russia – 2018 will be held in Kazan.
The cities that will host national WorldSkills competitions were announced at a special press conference with the participation of Chairman of Russian Government Olga Golodets and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
Speaking at the event, Olga Golodets said that a historical event took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil on August 10 when the country won the right to host WorldSkills Competition-2019 in Kazan.
Olga Golodets emphasized that the main goal for Russia is raising the value and standards of professional training and skills, and development of new training materials.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Olga Golodets for the vested confidence and noted that the capital of Tatarstan had hosted national WorldSkills competitions twice. The certificate for hosting WorldSkills Russia – 2018 was handed over to Rustam Minnikhanov later on.
It was also announced that the Russian round of WorldSkills Competition-2016 will be held in the Moscow region, and the Krasnodar region will host the event in 2017.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
