Rustam Minnikhanov discusses problems of Russian energy complex in Sochi

3 October 2015, Saturday
On October 3, at the International Investment Forum in Sochi, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the panel discussion “Fuel and energy complex: how to develop in conditions of low prices.”

Opening the event, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak noted that today the Russian economy needs to adapt to new conditions as soon as possible. "The role of developing countries in the world economy is growing. New technologies that change the world appear. On the other hand. the fuel and energy complex faces quite the opposite situation. We see how the appearance of new technologies changes the situation: importers become exporters. We see how the liquid natural gas is actively spreading geographically at those areas where energy resources had never been extracted", the minister said.
