Rustam Minnikhanov: We should bring cooperation with Toshiba Corporation to a new level

On October 4, during his working trip to Japan to take part in the international forum Science and Technology in Society held in Kyoto, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with President and Director General of Toshiba Corporation Masashi Muromachi.

Welcoming Masashi Muromachi, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the meeting should give impetus to development of further mutually beneficial cooperation between Tatarstan and Toshiba Corporation. He added that equipment of Toshiba Corporation is widely used in many spheres in the republic, in particular in health care industry, and energy sector can be another prospective area of cooperation.

Minister of Information and Communications of the republic Roman Shaikhutdinov, who took part in the meeting, told about the project on implementing Toshiba technologies at Volga automated sorting center. Moreover, Tatarstan can become a pilot region on integration of software in computer and MRI scanners with the state information system and unified archive of medical images.

Rector of Kazan federal University Ilshat Gafurov offered establishing the training center for specialists in health care industry and pharmaceutics.

Masashi Muromachi informed that the company is interested in joint projects in the sphere of hardware upgrade and new software development.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Masashi Muromachi for the meeting and invited him to the republic.
