On October 5, during his working trip to Japan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a session of Russian-Japanese Advisory Council chaired by Russian Vice-premier Arkady Dvorkovich and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Russia Tikahito Harada. Members of governments of two countries that coordinate main issues under discussion took part in the session.
Arkady Dvorkovich said that the parties had a few investment opportunities and expressed his hope that all projects would be implemented.
In his welcoming speech Rustam Minnikhanov thanked leadership of Russia and Japan for great attention paid to creation of favourable conditions for developing interregional cooperation.
He reminded that Tatarstan and Japan implement joint projects, in particular, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Sojitz cooperate under the project of Ammoni fertiliser complex, partnership relations were established between Mitsui and TAIF group, and work on industrial automation of major regional enterprises is underway.
Rustam Minnikhanov informed that Tatarstan company “Eidos-Medicine” and “DNAFORM’ created two joint enterprises for development and production of medical simulators. Tatarstan company ICL-KPO VS and Fujitsu have gained good experience of cooperation in IT sphere. Technologies and capitals of many Japanese companies were used in construction of petrochemical enterprises, development of health care and agricultural sectors in the republic.
