Tatarstan President visits RIKEN engineering center

On October 5, during his working trip to Japan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited RIKEN engineering center.

RIKEN is a large research institute in Japan that was founded in 1917. It is currently an independent scientific organization that unites 3, 000 scientists from different countries around the world. They work at 18 institutes and centers located in 9 campuses.

Representatives of RIKEN told Rustam Minnikhanov about scientific work carried out at the institute, in particular about the method of early genetic testing of flu. He noted that Tatarstan is interested in developing cooperation with RIKEN, and added that Kazan Federal University and other educational institutions of the republic have direct contacts with many Japanese educational institutions, carry out joint research, and organize internships for students and teachers.

Later on the same day, Rustam Minnikhanov and members of the Tatarstan delegation visited the engineering center of genomic technologies and spoke to the scientists.
